Special Needs Identification & Assignment Coordination Process

Previously known as the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) the revamped Special Needs Identification and Assignment Coordinator (SNIAC) process serves Air Force family members with special needs. The need could be medical, mental health or educational.

The process also ensures that Active Duty sponsors are "Q-coded" via the Military Personnel Flight. This will assist in the quick identification of AD members during PCS for timely relocation and appropriate resource matching prior to the actual move. Please contact the Special Needs Coordinator (SNC) at 240-857-8148.

Respite Care Program

Air Force Aid helps those families registered in the Special Needs Identification (formally EFMP) and Assignment Coordinator (SNIAC) who cannot afford respite care by funding a few hours of child/elder care each week or month. A referral from the SNIAC is needed. Call the Air Force Aid Officer at 301- 981-7087 for information about qualifications.
