CHILDREN AND FAMILY PROGRAMS

Parenting Classes - Please review the Parenting section of this directory.

Part Day Enrichment Program (PDE)

Like the full day child development programs, PDE is committed to providing activities that support children's affective, physical, social, language, cognitive, and creative development..

This program is designed for children ages 3 to 5. The majority of children who attend this program are from homes with a non-working parent and who do not need full time care; however, the program is open to all children regardless of their parents' work status or priority placement. Registration is offered prior to the school year, but children can start at any time during the year on a space-available basis. Children must be potty trained. Fees range from $42.00 - $213.00 a month, depending on salary and the number of sessions per week enrolled.

PDE meets during the school year in three (3) hour sessions. Children may be enrolled in 2-day, 3-day or 5-day session. Classes are not held on federal holidays, school vacation days or during school closings due to inclement weather. During the summer the Summer Sunshine Club is offered. This is a 6-week summer camp program for our PDE children. The program is run from the second week of July through the second week of August. Contact Supplemental Services and Programs (SPS) for details and enrollment, 301-981-9981/9982
